My Beloved Hometown

              I was born in Semarang. Semarang is the capital city of Central Java. It is one of some big cities in Indonesia.

               I have lived in Semarang for my whole life, nearly for 20 years. Although I already lived in there for years, I still don’t know much about Semarang. But there are some beauty places in Semarang that I know. There are some tourism places in here, many of them are very popular in Indonesia. The first place is ‘Tugu Muda’ which located in Simpang Lima. It is a statue that is very identical with Semarang. It is a symbol for commemorating the five-days battle in Semarang. The second place is ‘The Immanuel Protestan Church’, known by people as ‘Gereja Blenduk’, which is the oldest Protestant Church in Central Java. The next place that looks very awesome for me is Semarang State University, also known as Unnes. Yes, I’m a commuter. My college is in my hometown. Because I lived in Gunungpati, I think it is better if I am continuing my study at Unnes, one of the best college in Semarang. I choose Unnes because Unnes is just about 15 minutes from my house and I don’t have to live in the dormitory. Another reason is because I still can help my family everyday and not being separated from them. In spite of the three places that I had mentioned before, there are another interesting places in Semarang that pull many tourists, such as Lawang Sewu, Sam Poo Kong, Gua Kreo, and many more.

              I am very happy living in a very beautiful city named Semarang.

My Favorite Dress

              I have a favorite dress. It was given by my aunt when I was nine years old. She bought it at a mall, which I don’t remember it’s name, for my birthday present.

              I am very love that dress because it is like a dress that every princess wear at the television and cartoon. My dress’ color is blue. It has many flower embellishment on the upper part of it. Its length is just around my knee. Its material is very light, so that I can move whatever I want easily. Unfortunately, I can only wear it until I was 11 years old because of my growth. The dress is still look lovely, so I gave it to my cousin then. I thought that it was better if I gave it to somebody else than kept it in the wardrobe. I miss wearing dress like that. I really want to have a new dress like the previous one if I don’t remember how old am I now.

My New Year Experience

              The last two times of my new year were very awful. There were many bad experiences that happened to me.

              The first bad experiences that happened was my grandmother passed away exactly on the new year. A couple day before she passed away, I visited her and I took care of her. At that time, I thought that she was feeling better because she looked so well. She also didn’t look as poor as the day before. But then a few hours before the new year’s eve, my mother got a message from my aunt that my grandmother’s condition was dropping. Because my father was still working at that time, I decided to go to my grandmother’s house only with my mother. It was around midnight when I got there. So, our family decided to take her to the hospital in the morning. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away on the way to get there. I was so sad because the first day of my new year was a tragedy!

              Then the second bad experience that happened to me after the 2016 new year’s tragedy was ‘sick on the new year’s eve’. On Thursday, two days before new year, I got cough. Otherwise, I still had to do many household chores, from sweeping, washing clothes, washing the dishes, and many more. Consequently, the next day I got a fever. I already had a promise to my friends that I would join them to spend our new year’s eve together. We planned to see the fireworks. But because of my fever, I could not keep my word to join them. I felt so bad because I just could take a rest on my bed on the new year’s eve!

              I thought that I would never forget about my awful new year’s experience that I had.
